High-Tech Fashion, Prehistoric Music (Dec. 20)

In the first half of this show, Jon talks to a high-tech fashion designer. (She's got lasers!) Later on, we hear from a biology professor with an unusual hobby: re-creating prehistoric music.

Tumbleweed, Ladybugs, Urban Kayaking (Dec. 13)

_This is definitely one of the top five best shows. It starts with an amazing segment by Rose Eveleth about a world-class tumbleweed distributor. Next Jon Chang discusses a fungus that parasitizes ladybugs. Then Kelly Slivka wraps it up with a segment about kayaking to work in Manhattan.

Video Games, Parachute Science, Auroras (Dec. 6)

We look at how video games are doing...something to your brain, the equivalent of a scientific thank you note, and whether pretty green lights in the sky make pretty sounds too.
